Sundays in August Movie


Synopsis

With his wife in coma from a car accident, Ho-sang sleeps with Si-nae, the physician in charge of his wife. Ho-sang finds a man’s signature on the book “Sundays in August”, which his wife always reads. Si-nae feels strangely attracted to Ho-sang. She is interested in the book.While trying to look for the book, Si-nae comes in contact with So-kook, an owner of a secondhand bookstore. This book reminds So-kook of his dead friend.So-kook finds out that his mother is dating a friend of his deceased father, but determines not to be bothered. After his mother and his mother’s boyfriend decide to go on a trip, So-kook meets Si-nae at his secondhand bookstore for the first time…Curious encounters of these people, “Sundays in August” depict sometimes severe human relationships that are unpredictable in uncertain lives.* The inspiring novel of this film, “Sundays in August” was written in 1986 by Patrick Modiano, a French master of modern literature.
