Microphone, guitar, keyboards, bass, drums? Check. Now the only thing standing between you and your shot at international visibility are a few clicks of the keyboard -- and the votes of your passionate fans.

The Austin City Limits Music Festival’s “Sound and the Jury” Contest,* presented by the Dell Lounge, is a contest open to emerging bands and artists, with the top prize of a showcase on Dell’s ACL Festival stage.

Bands can upload their music and create a profile on the contest site.

Copy the tag embedded on your profile page into your MySpace profile, Web site or other online networking pages, which will add a quick link for fans to hit your Sound & the Jury page.

Voting begins on the Dell Lounge site July 11 , so don’t forget to e-mail your fans to let them know you’re in the contest, and exhort them to vote early and often!

Five finalists will receive tickets to Austin City Limits Festival and a travel stipend, plus a feature on the Dell Lounge.

The top five finalists will face off at the world-famous Antone’s in Austin, Texas, and the winning act will open the Dell ACL Festival Stage the next day.

“More than ever, fans are in the driver’s seat, determining the music that we all listen to,” said Lisa Martin-Louro, Dell Lounge Experiential Marketing Manager. “The Sound and the Jury contest celebrates every passionate fan’s newfound power as a music influencer.”

Last year’s contest attracted more than 600 bands, and after fans cast approximately 200,000 votes, the last band standing was Abiliene,Texas-based Homer Hiccolm & the Rocketboys.
