Dell & GameRail - Game On

“We looked at other vendors for our gateway servers, but none offered the value that Dell did. The performance and management available on Dell servers enabled us to build our network quickly and be the first provider in this market.”
- Darrell Gentry, chief technology officer, GameRail

Challenge
GameRail, a small, early-stage company, is attempting to rapidly build a specialized, nationwide gaming network capable of bypassing the unpredictable quality of service inherent in Internet connections.

Solution
Dell PowerEdge SC1435 servers combined with routers from Foundry Networks provide the performance to intelligently route online gaming traffic from user to game server in a form factor that helps GameRail scale to meet demand. Integrated Dell Baseboard Management Controllers enable GameRail to remotely manage servers from a central location.

Benefit
• Get IT Faster: Using Dell PowerEdge servers for high performance traffic aggregation helps GameRail reduce latency by up to 80 percent
• Run IT Better: Dell Baseboard Management Controllers can help save thousands of dollars by removing the need to contract for server technicians at remote locations
• Grow IT Smarter: The design and power efficiency of Dell PowerEdge servers helps ensure GameRail can scale to accommodate a growing user base
